Kris Sabol Photos
Kris Sabol lives in Coatesville, PA and works for a vendor which sells industrial equipment to the Sparrows Point (once know as Bethlehem Steel, as ISG, as Mittal and now. . .) Fascinated by the plant, and later- from reading this web site- its history, he began snapping photos of scenes from the plant. He said that he sometimes pauses at the entrance to the facility and tries to imagine what it looked like in the mid-1950s, when employment was at 31,000 and the town of Sparrows Point was still in existence.
Here is a sampling of his work. These photos represent the most important aspect of this history project: individual memories and experiences that otherwise would never be 'important' enough to be saved or reproduced.
